Burger mania is about to hit downtown Vancouver, as U.S. burger chain CaliBurger opens its first Vancouver location on Thurlow Street.
Slated to open late May, CaliBurger (which is often likened to burger giant In-N-Out) will serve traditional burgers, including the signature Cali Double (two 100 per cent all-beef patties, with melted real American cheese, tomatoes and lettuce). More creative types, like the Chipotle BBQ Chicken sandwich, will also feature on the menu.
These moreish creations will be offered alongside the burger joint’s fresh cut fries and made-in-house shakes, which once CaliBurger receives its liquor license will be offered with booze.
Located just off Robson Street, quick-service CaliBurger has taken over two adjacent spaces, one a convenience store, the other a laundromat, and in doing so has created one sizable space of 2200 square feet. With so much room to play with CaliBurger will offer inside seating for about 60.
Drawing inspiration from the CaliBurger in Seattle, Vancouver’s restaurant will be decked out with decor that’s “updated” and “modern,” says Reyaz A. Kassamali, President and CEO of K Franchise Systems, the company that has the master rights to CaliBurger for B.C.
The fast-casual joint will also boast many technologically advanced elements, like a mobile app that guests can order from, a self-serve kiosk at the door, and wireless charges in the tables.
Although CaliBurger is a U.S. burger chain, the Vancouver store will be the burger joint’s sixth location in North America and second in Canada — an outlet in Waterloo, Ontario opened just last Month.
Since launching back in 2012 CaliBurger has been focused on taking their California-style burgers to countries such as China, Kuwait, Bahrain, Sweden, Saudia Arabia, and the U.K. (just to name a few). Now, it seems that the time has come to bring the burgers back to North America.
For further developments on CaliBurger’s opening date it’s best to stay tuned to the eatery’s social media pages, but for now we’ll just leave you with these mouthwatering images.
