This Holiday Season we encourage you to shop local!  Vancouver is full of brilliant people with brilliant ideas.  If you’re not sure where exactly to shop locally, we’ve complied a very short list of local retailers.  Eat, drink, be “Merry” and support local businesses!

Herro Hachi – Vancouver designer Kym Bangius set out to “Make funny, fashionable” with her t-shirt line Herro Hachi.  Make sure to pick up one of these this Christmas season for that hilarious family member or friend which we all have in our lives!

Yoga On The Flow – Sharan Sumal completed her RYT200 locally at International Yoga Therapy.  In it’s first year of operations, Yoga On The Flow offers both Private and Semi-Private Therapeutic Yoga classes.  If you’re worried about a loved one’s health or just want to help someone create more balance in the body/mind book them in to de-stress after this holiday season!

Light Activewear – Don’t forget to  glam up your Yogi friends and family this season with the beautiful designs of Light Activewear! Locally designed in Vancouver, Light Activewear represents the modern-day yogi in us all.  Each garment is designed with the utmost consideration in performance, functionality and style; each seam comes complete with thought and reason.

Daniel le Chocolat Belge – Do we really need to explain why chocolate is a good gift idea?  Daniel’s chocolates are manufactured in Vancouver with 5 locations in the Metro Vancouver area.  With 25 years in chocolate making under their belt they are sure to please even the pickiest of personalities on your list!

DIPT –  DIPT is an independent streetwear/sneaker boutique based out of Vancouver.  If you don’t know who they are by now then you don’t read Vancity Buzz often enough.  Our personal favorite is their Vancity Original line, they have something for everyone on the “Nice” list this season – men, women, babies & toddlers. Oh and the best snap backs in town.

Roden Gray – Looking to find something unique this season?  Stop by Roden Gray in Gastown for great clothing by designers not many other stores carry (i.e. Helmut Lang, Alexander Wang, etc).  This is definitely one of our favourite stores to shop at!

Hamburger Disco –  Hamburger Disco is a clothing company based out of Vancouver.  Their t-shirts are funky and fun celebrating Hamburgers and Disco.  Be sure to “stuff” these in everyone’s stocking this year!

Lynn Steven – Got a super fashionista to shop for on that Christmas list?  From clothing  to accessories, be sure to check out LYNNsteven for all your fashion needs!

Blenz Coffee – Blenz Coffee makes beautiful gift baskets perfect for taking to that annual gift exchange at your office or with your friends.  You might even consider sending one this season to your favourite blog!? Just saying 😉

Native Shoes – Local Vancouver based line Native Shoes are eco friendly yet fashionable shoes, they are made with the lightest fabrications a shoe can be made out of, animal free, odor free, shock absorbent and extremely comfortable.  They have made their mark even in the White House!  Who wouldn’t want a pair of these wrapped up under the tree for them?  We know we would.

Granville Island Toy Company – Have a special little one to shop for this holiday season?  You can’t go wrong with the Granville Island Toy Company.  They have toys for babies, toddlers, older kids, teens and, lets face it, even adults!
