Temporary Burrard Bridge closure will impact all traffic this weekend for heavy operation

A temporary closure of the Burrard Bridge will impact all vehicle traffic for a period of time this weekend.
A heavy operation involving the removal of a large crane from the Seńáḵw development next to the bridge is the reason for the closure.
The closure takes place on Saturday, March 7, and Sunday, March 8, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The City of Vancouver says that the bridge is expected to reopen fully at noon on both days.
While all lanes of traffic will be closed to vehicles, cyclists will still have some access to the bridge. The City says that the east side bike lane will remain open for cyclists who are travelling northbound.
For cyclists travelling southbound, they’ll be required to dismount and walk their bikes
The east side sidewalk will also remain open for pedestrians.
The City of Vancouver also has some advice for folks who are travelling to events in the area.
“If you are travelling in and around the area this weekend, including sport fans heading to Rugby Sevens at BC Place, plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey. VPD traffic control personnel will be on site to support the public throughout the closure,” the City says.
Buses that travel over the Burrard Bridge will be rerouted.
