The Corporation of Delta has posted a video to YouTube showing the aftermath of the Burns Bog fire.
Charred plantlife and smouldering bog peat paints the scene in the 30 second-long video. The area appears to be a mostly extinguished portion of the fire, but when crews start digging underneath the surface, it’s obvious their work isn’t over yet.

The fire consumed nearly 80 hectares of Burns Bog, prompting evacuation orders for the nearby Tilbury Industrial Park and a closure of Highway 17. The Corporation of Delta said Wednesday afternoon that the fire was 100% contained, prompting them to reopen the highway.
