Burnaby RCMP say a 53 year old man is under arrest and may be facing murder charges in connection with a double stabbing at a local homeless camp last night.

Staff Sargent Jeff Ausmus says they got the call shortly after 8 pm Monday night at a wooded area in a ravine, behind the 6800 block of Rumble Street.

“We did locate one victim who was transported to hospital, then secondly we did locate a second victim, who was unfortunately, deceased at the time.”

Ausmus says both of the victims are men.

“We do believe this is targeted and we don’t believe that the public is at any risk.”

The case has been handed over to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

Police say all involved knew each other.
