Police continue to search for a driver that reportedly struck a student late last year.

The Burnaby RCMP says that the incident occurred on November 23, 2020, at approximately 7:15 am. The victim, a 14-year-old girl, was walking to school when she was struck at the intersection of Cumberland Street and 16th Avenue.

“The driver initially stopped and approached the victim, but left the scene without exchanging information or reporting the incident,” says the Burnaby RCMP.

Police released footage of the collision in December but say they have yet to locate the individual. The teen sustained minor injuries during the incident.

“If you recognize the man or the vehicle in this video, please contact the police,” says Corporal Mike Kalanj of the Burnaby RCMP. “If you are the man in the above video, please come forward and speak to our investigators.”

Anyone with information can contact the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
