IHIT probing homicide of 18-year-old woman in Burnaby home

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in to probe the homicide of an 18-year-old woman in a Burnaby home.

IHIT says Burnaby RCMP found the teen with life-threatening injuries after receiving a call for assistance at a residence in the 4100-block of Oxford Street on Sunday at 12:36 pm.

Sgt. Frank Jang says the woman has since died of her injuries.

A man was arrested in connection with the death and has since been released from custody pending further investigation. No criminal charges have been laid.

In a release issued to media Tuesday night, Jang said it was an isolated incident involving people “known to one another.”
