Summer fun has arrived in Burnaby! From Greek Summerfest to Edmonds City Fair and more, here are 10 things to do around the city this July.

Canada Day at Swangard Stadium

What: This free, family-friendly concert featuring Coco Jafro, Nuela Charles, and Stars caps off Burnaby’s Canada Day celebrations. Canada Day at Swangard Stadium also features games and activities, a family zone, exhibitors and sponsor tents, prize draws, food trucks, and spectacular fireworks.

2019 Greek Summerfest on Boundary

What: Come enjoy authentic Greek food and live a day the Greek way. Experience local music and dance groups on the outdoor stage while eating your favourite Greek dishes.

Summer Arts Festival

What: Burnaby Art Council and Opus Arts Supplies presents the Summer Arts Festival at Deer Lake Gallery. Enjoy a Friday Night Market with live entertainment and a beer garden. Then on Saturday enjoy a painting competition, inspiration station and face painting, Coast Salish welcome and intro, and more.

Ethiopian Summer Festival

Tanabata & Flea Market

What: The annual Tanabata Matsuri is the Japanese Star Festival that takes place at the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre. Stop by and write a wish on a tanzaku. There will be Japanese movies, a Japanese Book Sale, festival food, and also fun-filled kids activities.

The Summer Festival 2019

What: The Summer Festival is a family-friendly anime event that features artists and vendors, matsuri-styled games, contests, and fabulous prizes. Presented by SFU Anime Club, cosplay and yukatas are encouraged.

CAN Relay 4 Autism

What: The first-ever CAN Relay 4 Autism invites families, supporters and the general public to walk, run or wheel around the Swangard Stadium track in support of Canucks Autism Network. Dress up in 80s attire, your favourite costume or come as you are. The free family-friendly outdoor event will also feature carnival games, bouncy castles, food trucks, music and a vendor marketplace.
