Heritage Christmas

Burnaby Village Museum

What: Stroll through the streets of Burnaby Village Museum to see wreaths, cedar swags and vintage-themed displays. At the bandstand, visitors can create their own magical holiday show with lights that change colours to sound. Special entertainment is scheduled throughout the season including theatre performances, community choirs, street characters and musicians. Many family-favourite activities are back including craft for children, baking in the Farmhouse and visits with Father Christmas.

Family Movie at McGill: Paddington 2

What: Enjoy a free screening of Paddington 2 at Burnaby Public Library – McGill Branch. Parents must accompany children under 10. Drop-in, space is limited.

Free Drop-In: What We Do to Make a Sealskin Drawing

What: Inspired by the drawing ‘What We Did to Make a Sealskin Tent,’ part of Burnaby Art Gallery’s current exhibition “Picturing Arctic Modernity,” artist Mark Igloliorte will lead an informal drawing workshop using sealskin as a subject. Participants will draw with a variety of graphite pencils to create depictions of seal skins from observation. Artistic skills of shading and gradient will be introduced while guests will be invited to stretch their experience by working with sealskin.

Meet Me at the Barre

Greighlan Crossing Pipe Band 14th Annual Burns Night

What: An evening of poetry and Scottish music dedicated to the great poet Robert Burns, accompanied by a full traditional buffet dinner that includes haggis, roast beef, neeps and tatties. Entertainment is being provided by the Greighlan Crossing Pipe Band, The Christie Highland Dancers, and dancing provided by a live DJ. Also featuring a scotch tasting bar, beer and wine bar, silent auction and more.
