
A taxi driver has died following a single car crash on Barnet Highway Thursday night.
The crash happened at around 11:30 pm on the boundary between Burnaby and Port Moody heading westbound, the Burnaby RCMP tells Daily Hive. It’s believed the driver hit a pole or a tree and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident resulted in the closure of the highway westbound until 8 am on Friday.
Speed and weather are both being considered as factors in the crash.
