Get in on the local beer scene at the Burnaby Beer Fest

Nov 1 2016, 3:15 am

On November 12, local brewers are coming together for a day of beer and charity.

This is the second year for the Burnaby Beer Fest, and if last year is any indication, it’s going to be bigger than ever before.

The event will feature live music from local artists Karla Sax, Freedom 95, and The Sean Micheal Trio, as well as appetizers and beer samples. The price of the ticket includes three tastings, but additional tickets will be available on site.

The Burnaby Beer Fest will feature 12 different breweries:

  • Phillips Brewery
  • Central City Brewing
  • Black Kettle Brewing Co.
  • Dageraad
  • Doan’s Craft
  • Dogwood Brewery
  • Howe Sound Brewery
  • Be Right Back Brewery
  • Old Yale Brewing
  • Steamworks
  • Steel & Oak
  • Strange Fellows Brewery

All proceeds from the event will go towards Burnaby Community Services, an outreach program that offers services and support for low income families and isolated seniors.

“The Burnaby Beer Fest was created to promote the importance of local community,” says Stephen D’Souza, the executive director of Burnaby Community Services. “It allows us to showcase local brewers and musicians while helping families and seniors in our community break the cycles of poverty and isolation.”

Tickets for the Burnaby Beer Fest are available online. For more information, or to stay in the loop for next year’s event, follow the beer festival on Twitter and Facebook.
