North Vancouver firefighters are investigating after 11 brush fires were set along the Hastings Creek Trail, according to Global News.

Crews responded to calls at around 6 a.m. after several residents who live near the trail said they smelled smoke.
Assistant fire chief Mike Cairns told Global News the fires were set along a one kilometre stretch of the trail.
“Based on the number of fires, they certainly appear to be deliberately set,” he said.
Investigators think the fires were set on Tuesday night, and they found some paper on the scene.

There are over 180 forest fires currently burning in B.C. due to the unusually hot, dry conditions, and 67 of them are over 10 hectares in size.
There might be some relief in sight, thought, since the weather forecast is predicting rain for parts of the coast.
