There is no shortage of Vancouver Canucks players in the rumour mill ahead of Friday’s trade deadline.
Tyler Myers is in limbo, with the 36-year-old defencemen mulling over his future as a trade with the Detroit Red Wings hangs in the balance. Detroit is apparently interested in Elias Pettersson, too.
Vancouver’s pending UFAs are in play, meaning that Evander Kane, Teddy Blueger, and David Kämpf are expected to be on the move.
Just how far beyond those players the team goes is yet to be determined. Filip Hronek has a no-movement clause, and his agent has made it clear that the Czech blueliner is not interested in waiving it.
Brock Boeser, Jake DeBrusk, and Marcus Pettersson all have no-movement clauses as well.
Vancouver’s most marketable veteran player without any trade protection is Conor Garland, so needless to say, his name has popped up in trade reports.
The Bruins have interest in Garland, according to a report from Jimmy Murphy of RG Media, but they have “plenty of competition” for the Massachusetts native.
Just got another call on this, and let's say the #NHLBruins have plenty of competition on Conor Garland. https://t.co/xFMuPFl1dq

Boston also has interest in Boeser, dating back to him becoming a free agent last summer. Boeser is unlikely to be traded though, according to Canucks insider Irfaan Gaffar.
There should be some urgency in moving Garland, who turns 30 years old next week. Moving Garland will become much more difficult after July 1, when a no-movement clause kicks in with his new contract.
