Brock Boeser's return to Vancouver Canucks couldn't come at a better time

The Vancouver Canucks have seen bodies drop like flies throughout this road trip, but they’re getting a boost for the finale.

Multiple reports suggest that Brock Boeser will return for the Vancouver Canucks against the Nashville Predators.

Canucks reporter Irfaan Gaffar was the first to report that Boeser would rejoin the Canucks on their five-game road trip, while Rick Dhaliwal later confirmed the news.

Boeser’s return is a much-needed boost to a Canucks team that had six AHL regulars from last season line up at forward during a 5-1- loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Nils ƅman played his first NHL game of the season, while journeyman Loe LaBate played his first game for the Canucks in over 3,000 days.

During the last two games Boeser played, he led all Canucks forwards in ice time. The Burnsville, Minnesota native was on the ice for 21:15 when the Canucks beat the Dallas Stars. He then played a whopping 23:27 during the Canucks shootout victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Boeser was the reason why the Canucks emerged victorious over Chicago, as he buried the shootout winner in the fourth round.

Kiefer Sherwood has taken over Boeser for the early team lead with four goals in seven games. Boeser is tied with Filip Chytil for second on the team in goals with three on the season.

With Chytil currently on injured reserve, the Canucks only have four players who have scored more than once this season: Sherwood, Boeser, Conor Garland and Max Sasson.
