British Gin Launches in Vancouver

Dec 19 2017, 6:40 pm

Vancouver’s gin market is exploding, growing at such a rapid pace that British distributors have taken notice and are bringing their signature spirits across the pond.

The craft gin market in Vancouver has seen exponential expansion lately, with craft distilleries like Long Table, Liberty, Deep Cove, Victoria Gin and many more bringing their unique flavour combinations to the table. The Brits have taken notice, and are bringing their own mastercraft to our store shelves with the release of Bloom and Berkeley Square gins.

Bloom gin features chamomile, pomelo and honeysuckle as the three key botanicals; each one helping in its own unique way to create a more delicate and subtle gin drinking experience. Bloom has won several prominent awards in its category, including Silver in the International Wine & Spirits Challenge for 2013. Bloom would be best served in cocktails or with Fevertree tonic and a slice of strawberry.

Berkeley Square is a handcrafted Ultra-premium gin created in small batches in a traditional copper pot still.  Based on a traditional London Dry Gin recipe, its unique blend of botanicals, including lavender, basil and hand-rubbed sage are wrapped in muslin prior to distillation and submerged in triple distilled spirit to infuse these essential oils. Berkeley has also won several awards, including Silver in the super premium gin category. This one is for the drinker who likes their gin straight up.

Samples of Berkeley Square and Bloom Gin will be available at Sidecar (1163 Granville St) from 8pm-midnight on Saturday May 31st as part of a product launch event created by Bombshell Marketing Group. Brand ambassadors will be on hand to answer questions and drinkers can enjoy gin cocktails, gin and tonics or straight up gin on the rocks.

Anyone else excited that our gin market is amping up its game?
