#BringBackOurGirls rally at Robson Square

Dec 19 2017, 6:32 pm

To raise awareness about the kidnapping of 276 Nigerian school girls by Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, a rally will be held Saturday, May 10 at noon at Robson Square.

The 276 girls are still missing after being abducted from the Chibok Government Girls Secondary School on April 14.

The rally’s page calls for “a diverse crowd of men and women to stand together in solidarity for a peaceful and impactful rally.”

“Show your support and stand together for these innocent children and their rights to education and security.”

Rally organizers recommend wearing red for the rally. Women are also invited to wear geles and headwraps.

The Vancouver rally comes shortly after the Canadian government announced it will provide surveillance equipment to the Nigerian government as part of an increased effort to find the missing girls.
