Imagine being able to detect a potentially fatal disease in its earliest stages just by measuring a patient’s breath.

That’s the Breathtec Biomedical Inc. (BTH:CSE) team’s goal in its development of a medical screening tool that could detect diseases such as cancers, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, heart disease, respiratory disorders, and more.

Breathtec Biomedical is a British Columbia based company. Its breathalyzer tool will be beneficial for patients of all ages since it’s non-invasive and non-intrusive. Collection can happen anywhere at anytime, results are received just within minutes, the analysis is relatively simple, and overall, the product requires minimal handling and storage procedures.

Breathtec’s tool will also help save time and money in the medical field, benefiting doctors, patients, and more.

“This is really a whole new field that has huge potential to revolutionize the way we do medical testing and monitoring. It has profound potential for global health,” says professor Perena Gouma, Director of the SBU Center for Nanomaterials and Sensor Development.

“This is going to change medical diagnosis work, and that means a lot of better health and welfare, for employers, for insurance, for physicians…I think it’s going to have a great impact, and very soon.”

The development of the Breathtec technology will help identify diseases in their earliest stages as a low-cost, non-intrusive tool.
