Why BC Place will be lit up in green, blue and yellow this month

Aug 15 2025, 2:00 pm

If you look up at BC Place later this month and see it glowing green, blue and yellow, it’s not a random light show; it’s the official kickoff for Brazilian Day Vancouver 2025.

The ‘largest Brazilian cultural festival’ in Canada is taking over the Plaza of Nations parking lot (next to Science World) on Aug. 29 and 30, bringing two days of high-energy music, vibrant performances and mouth-watering cuisine straight from Brazil.

Opening night will feature an exclusive concert by É o Tchan, one of Brazil’s most iconic axé bands from the 1990s and 2000s.

The following day, the festival will keep the party going with more than 10 hours of live music, DJs, a mini street Carnaval, cultural exhibits, family-friendly activities and plenty of authentic Brazilian eats.
