Brave Bull's House of Steaks closes September 2, 2012

Dec 19 2017, 2:13 pm

East Vancouver is known for many things, steaks isn’t one of them however, one local favourite will be serving its last meat as Brave Bull’s House of Steaks will close its doors for good. With it gone is one of the last spot for $10 sirloins.

Located at the corner of Clark Drive and Hastings Street East since 1985. The owners Linda and Frank Lum will finally retire as they have sold the building to a developer. Look for that corner to be redeveloped as that part of Hastings is set to see some major changes starting with 955 East Hastings.

Brave Bull’s wasn’t as well known as it should have been, its food wasn’t going to win any awards, however, their food was delicious and affordable. The food was made with care. Good food cheap. Those three words would be the perfect description for Brave Bull’s.

Last year the Brave Bull was closed for a year as owner Frank Lum was diagnosed with colon cancer. After this Sunday (September 2, 2012) The Brave Bull will have served it’s final sirloin.

They weren’t in the restaurant business for the money, that would explain the extremely low prices. It was a labour of love and the love affair has come to an end as the Lum’s enter the next chapter in their life, retirement.
