Brandy Sarionder, former owner of Vancouver’s Brandi’s Show Lounge was found dead in her Coal Harbour apartment on Sunday.

The Province newspaper reports “the woman who brought an aura of class to Vancouver’s high-end strip club scene was remembered Tuesday as a kind and generous person.” Sarionder operated Brandi’s on Hornby Street for many years.

The 50-year-old entrepreneur was “ousted” from the business in 2010, causing financial difficulties and depression. One of Sarionder’s friends told The Province “She was just depressed. She had no money. She was about to be evicted. It’s horrible.”

Brandi’s Show Lounge “has been Vancouvers’ premier exotic showlounge for 14 years strong,” according to their website.

The club made international news in 2003 when Ben Affleck, then engaged to Jennifer Lopez, visited along with Christian Slater and Tara Reid.

Tabloids then called on Sarionder to comment on allegations that Affleck cheated on his pop-star fiancé and offered $2 million to give up a video of Affleck inside the club. She denied the money.
