Canucks reassign Prust to Utica Comets
The Canucks did the expected today, reassigning forward Brandon Prust to the Utica Comets of the AHL.

Prust was placed on waivers by the Canucks on Tuesday, and after he wasn’t claimed by another NHL team on Wednesday, this move was inevitable.

Still just 31-years-old, Prust’s NHL career likely isn’t over yet. He could still be attractive to another NHL team in the offseason, at a reduced cap hit from the $2.5 million he carries right now. He is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
Of course, if Prust’s play improves or if the Canucks run into injury trouble again, he can be recalled.
