The holiday season has technically already begun, which means you’re going to be doing a lot of eating and drinking over the next month.
A good holiday party is as much about the venue as it is about the people sitting around the table, or busting a move on the dancefloor. It has to be a sophisticated spot where you can enjoy yourself, not somewhere everyone wants to leave early.
Vancouver’s swanky Silk Lounge on Powell Street is the perfect place to host everything from your office party to get-togethers with family and friends. If you’ve got over 40 people in your group, you can book out the entire lounge for the evening for an all-organic French-Indian gastronomical experience.
If you haven’t visited Silk Lounge yet, you’re in for a real treat. This divine spot opened back in April and boasts an interior like nothing else you’ll find in Vancouver, filled with bespoke pieces sourced from all over the world.
On the menu, you’ll find only dishes made with organic ingredients as Silk Lounge is the first restaurant serving Indian food in Vancouver to do so. They even grow some of their own organic herbs and vegetables, too.
Chefs in the open kitchen at Silk Lounge don’t cook for speed. Instead, they maximize flavour by using organic, cold-pressed, and unrefined oils (if they have to). Absolutely nothing is deep fried in the kitchen and food is cooked over a direct flame in a clay tandoor oven.
At the bar, order freshly-squeezed juice, organic wines, craft cocktails, or any other adult beverage you desire.
Silk Lounge will be open seven days a week for the month of December so you can host a lunchtime party or an evening soiree. Choose from a three-course set menu for the holidays and gather around the table to enjoy each bite.
With vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, there’s something for everyone. And chefs at Silk Lounge will even work with you to create a menu of your choice.
