On Friday, September 9, North Vancouver Fire Fighters Local 1183 and the Capilano Suspension Bridge will present Boots across the Bridge, a fundraiser for the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund.

A food and wine event with live entertainment, Boots across the Bridge will be hosted by Global TV’s Randene Neill. Guests will enjoy wine tastings from Riverstone Winery, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly and Good Life Libations, appetizers by the Bridge House Restaurant, a fresh oyster bar by Mizuna Culinary, and chocolates by Cocoa Nymph. Sponsored by Summerhill Pyramid Winery, guests can experience a wine sabering demonstration with wine blogger Mike Nierychlo and by donation, can even knock the top off of a bottle of bubbly using a sword or an axe!

Set on the scenic grounds of the Capilano Suspension Bridge, guests will also have the opportunity to experience Cliffwalk, the newly opened walkway jutting out over the Capilano River.

The event is happening on Friday, September 9th from 7-10pm. Tickets are $50 and everyone who purchases a ticket will be entered into a draw for two tickets to anywhere WestJet flies!

Winners will be chosen at the event. Tickets can be purchased online at http://bootsacrossthebridge.wordpress.com/tickets or by contacting the Burn Fund office at 604-463-5617 or [email protected].

More than 3,800 fire fighters donate their time and skills to the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund, supporting burn survivors and increasing the public’s knowledge of fire and burn safety through the fund’s awareness, research and prevention programs.
