Boneta, the award-winning Gastown restaurant created by Mark Brand and Neil Ingram is shutting down on December 23, 2013, according to Scout Magazine.
Management were told of the closure last week while the rest of the staff were told today.
Boneta, opened at its original location at 1 West Cordova Street in July 2007 and moved to its current location at 12 Water Street in September 2011.
Since opening, Boneta has won many awards, including being named #5 on enRoute Magazine’s 10 Best New Restaurants in 2008.
The closure of Boneta will definitely leave a void in Gastown.
