Surrey RCMP is scouring a residential neighbourhood where a lifeless body was found inside a vehicle this morning.
A report was received at 9:50 a.m. for police to assist emergency responders with an unresponsive male inside a SUV parked at the 9500 block of 139th Street near Surrey Memorial Hospital in Whalley.
The investigation is being conducted by the Serious Crime Unit. The identity of the male and cause of death has not been released; few details are available at this time as the investigation is in its early stages.
Traffic was rerouted throughout the day to allow officers to canvass the area. Witnesses were also interviewed for further information.
This is the second body found inside a vehicle in Surrey in just two days.
On Wednesday, a passerby found the body of a 49-year-old man in the front seat of a car parked at Scott Road and Nordwel Way. Foul play is not suspected, although a cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
