With a wide network of bars, clubs and events, it’s hard to keep up with everything that Blueprint has to offer in this fair city. Here’s your weekly roundup.
9. Gramatik
Gramatik headlined an incredible sold out show at The Commodore.
8. John Dahlback
Dahlback returned to Celebrities for Playhouse Saturdays and as always, his fans were out in full force.
7. Back & Forth
Gastown proved how much it loves hip-hop at our recently-launched weekly Saturday at The Charles Bar, Back & Forth.
6. CONTACT 2013
Our last festival of the year and Western Canada’s largest, Contact 2013, is coming up and will feature Kaskade, Skrillex, Diplo, Dada Life, Bingo Players, Dirty South, Flosstradamus, RL Grime, Baauer, MAKJ, Cashmere Cat and Sleepy Tom. Walking around town and seeing big banners like these outside BC Place makes us so excited, December 26 and 27 can’t come soon enough!
5. Darkslide
We’re hosting local band Needles//Pins, DJ Cherchez La Femme, and skaters from across North America to skate a 5-foot mini ramp installed inside Venue. Proceeds will be donated to local NGO, The Jamcouver Cultural Society, and we have prize packs courtesy of Stance, G-Shock, The Hundreds, Menu Skate Shop, Local Art Collective, and Concrete Magazine to give away. Details here.
4. Pete Tong
BBC Radio 1 icon Pete Tong returns to Vancouver on Friday. This time, the British taste-maker sets his sights on Celebrities Nightclub for the Stereotype Fridays 7 Year Anniversary.
3. Morgan Page at VENUE4YR
Legendary house music pioneer Morgan Page is headlining Venue’s 4 year anniversary party. Tickets are moving fast, and considering his Commodore show the day before sold out weeks in advance, we don’t expect this one to be available much longer either.
2. BP Live
We have three amazing blueprintLIVE shows lined up for all of Vancouver’s die-hard hip-hop fans. N.O.R.E. is at Venue this Friday, Kool G Rap + AZ make an appearance on December 5, and Big K.R.I.T. closes out our year on December 13.
1. Shine 13 Year
Shine’s 13 year anniversary party will be co-headlined by DJ duos Oliver and Classixx. Anyone familiar with Oliver will know that U-Tern (one half of the duo) got his start at Shine years ago, so this is an extra special show for us.
