Canucks at Blue Jackets - Game Preview (March 12)

Dec 19 2017, 3:12 pm

Set the bandwagon on fire, trade Cloutier, fire Crawford and take the C from Naslund.

Sorry – as a Canucks fan, you tend to hear the same story every era, so panic mode isn’t always necessary. Then again, losing to the Blue Jackets in either era could call for that.

Canucks Game Preview

A four-game losing skid for the Canucks and a five-game winning streak for Columbus might make us ask if the two teams have a Freaky Friday situation going on here (I forget how it ends, we get to win again soon right?).

Tonight, Vancouver is back in the Blue Jackets’ rink, and up against the league’s hottest goalie, Sergei Bobrovsky, who has a stunning .77 GAA and a .972 save percentage in his last four. Columbus hardly has any fantasy scorers, as their entire team is making up for this with a group effort. The likes of Vaclav Prospal, Derick Brassard, and Nick Foligno are not the match that the Sedin line would expect to challenge them, but they managed to outplay the Canucks anyways last Thursday.

It may have to be said every game (and never make a difference), but this has to be a statement game for the Canucks. Our scorers need to score, our special teams need to produce, and our defense needs to try to go one game without having their pairings bashed in the papers.
