Blake Lively expecting first baby with Vancouver's Ryan Reynolds

Los Angeles actress Blake Lively and Vancouver actor Ryan Reynolds are expecting their first child.

The pregnancy was revealed on Lively’s lifestyle blog Preserve in a photo editorial titled “Preserve Celebrations: Falling for Family.” The post includes a photo of Lively with a baby bump and a note about the “creation of family” that includes a congratulations to expecting mothers.

In a July 2014 article in Vogue, Lively hinted that she was expecting a baby and highlighted how Reynolds has the life experience required to be a dad:

“He’s going to be a great father and leader and patriarch—he’s so meant to be all of those things. The fact that he lived so much before we got together, he’s the exact realized person that he should be. And so I get to share my life with the person he’s become, and we get to grow from there.”

Last year, Reynolds also told Details about his plans to start a family with Lively.

27-year-old Lively, best known for her main role on Gossip Girl, met 37-year-old Reynolds in 2010 on a movie set for The Green Lantern. At the time, Reynolds was married to Scarlett Johansson, but he filed for divorce later that year after two years of marriage. Prior to that relationship, he was engaged to Ottawa-born Alanis Morissette.

Lively and Reynolds started dating in 2011 and tied the knot in September 2012.
