Crosstown residents, rejoice! Blueprint, Vancouver’s renowned entertainment company, has opened their newest bar, Bismarck, for neighbours of the area to finally call their own.
Located on the corner of Abbott and Pender, the bar opened late this month with the intent of offering a place for those in Crosstown to mingle, converse, eat, drink and relax – something that has been sorely lacking in the emerging area. As a new brand and concept for Blueprint, Bismarck an exciting diversion from their typical establishment and will replace the former Pivo restaurant that they had run for the past four years.
With 60 comfortable seats, guests of Bismarck can expect an intimate, yet animated atmosphere. The warm, modish, semi-circular room encourages guests to get friendly with one another, amongst a 40-foot backdrop of over sixty, striking, backlit picture frames, custom light fixtures and furnishings. A lively space, Bismarck is expecting to make waves with its friendly, exuberant staff and non-stop music – playing the best of tasteful current, past and forthcoming classics from rock ‘n’ roll to rap to indie dance and more.
Not for the peckish, Bismarck’s inventive new menu, created by Blueprint’s Executive Chef, Brett Turner, is meant to satisfy appetites – featuring savoury sausages and fresh baked artisanal breads. With a focus on freshness, all of Bismarck’s dishes, breads and spreads are made in house daily, including an in-house grinder and sausage stuffer promising guests 100% pure, local and organic savoury sausages – free of filler or nitrates. A carefully selected collection of B.C. craft beers from Parallel 49, Phillips and others serve as the mainstay at Bismarck, where guests are invited to enjoy multiple rounds of conversation.
Johnny Carroll, General Manager of Bismarck shares, “With so much new growth here in Crosstown, we wanted to give the locals a place that they can just chill at, whenever – and feel comfortable to actually get to know their neighbours. And by stacking our team with some of the industry’s most well known figures, and creating a fresh and unique menu, we’re expecting neighbours in the area will be proud to call Bismarck their own”.
Open seven days a week, the Blueprint team expects that Bismarck will directly serve the growing local Crosstown neighbourhood as well as the thousands of concert goers and sports fans who frequent the area weekly (Bismarck will be the closest bar to Rogers Arena). Eight HDTVs ensure locals never miss a game, and the city’s best DJ’s will amp up the atmosphere each weekend.
