Gearing up for Fall Bike to Work Week with Vancouver's HUB

Dec 19 2017, 8:31 pm

Fall Bike to Work Week is October 27 to November 2 all across Metro Vancouver, and the folks at HUB are ready to help participants celebrate.

In the spirit of encouraging cyclists to tackle the colder, wetter weather for their commutes, Vancouver’s bicycling activists and supporters at HUB will have volunteers in place at over 30 Celebration Stations along the city’s bike routes during Bike to Work Week.

They’ll be handing out free coffee and snacks, and providing free repairs at these locations, and they will also be giving out over $15,000 in prizes during the week–including a new bike each day. On October 31, HUB is throwing a Bike to Work Week Halloween party, and everyone is encouraged to dress up their bikes.

HUB says that more riders are sticking with biking their commute even when it’s darker in the morning and evening, and when the weather is much chillier.

“[M]ore and more people are realizing that bike commuting in Metro Vancouver is an easy year-round option,” said Laura Jane, Bike to Work Week Manager.

Register for Bike to Work Week, and hit the road and reap the rewards of bicycling October 27-November 2.
