Bike to Work Week returns to Metro Vancouver this week

Oct 23 2019, 6:18 pm

With a much-needed burst of sunshine in Vancouver’s forecast, it’s the perfect time for Bike to Work Week’s return to Metro Vancouver.

In addition to being an environmentally-friendly social movement, the week-long event offers “celebration stations” for riders, as well as free prizes for participants.

From now until Sunday, October 27, more than 55 stations will be set up around Metro Vancouver, offering free drinks, snacks, and basic bike tune-ups.

Participants are also encouraged to register for Bike to Work week online and log their trips for the chance to win daily prizes.

This week’s share of prizes include bikes, tickets to Scandinave Spa in Whistler, gift cards, Mobi annual passes, and best of all, a trip for two with Exodus Travels to cycle in the Baltics.

According to the event website, the logged trips from riders who register also help the organizers “work with local leaders to improve cycling infrastructure in [the community].”

This fall’s iteration of Bike to Work Week takes place from now until Sunday, October 27, 2019. For more information, and to register online, you can visit their website.
