We hear it on a regular basis: Vancouver is one of the most unaffordable cities in the world, and many argue that it’s quickly becoming unliveable.
Within the next decade, 50% of the world’s workforce will be made up of millennials, which only goes to show how important this young demographic is to our regional, national, and global economies.
Young professionals in Metro Vancouver are facing many challenges when trying to set down roots in the region, and over the past three months, members of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade’s Company of Young Professionals program have been tackling these challenges head on, working in teams to create short videos to answer the question: How can our attract and engage more millennials?
After many videos were submitted, the field has been narrowed down to six videos, each with different and unique ideas. The top videos will be shown on Wednesday, May 18 at Illuminate Vancouver, where business and community leaders will join together to discuss the pressing issues facing young professionals and discuss Greater Vancouver affordability, opportunity, and community. Vote online or attend in person and see who will crowned the “BIG Idea Champion.”
