FEATURED ON THE LISTED GUIDE
If you’ve been pining for the rushing rock sounds of Biffy Clyro ever since they left Canada in 2014, you’re in luck – the band is heading back to Vancouver during their 2017 North American tour on March 31.
This year’s tour is in support of their newest album Ellipsis, released in July 2016. The first in a trilogy of albums, Ellipsis took their chart-topping 2013 album Opposites and turned it on its head.
Their new sound is of an unusual mixture, featuring everything from country twang to a children’s choir.
“You can be heavy without being metal,” vocalist and guitarist Simon Neil says in a press release.
“We definitely took sonic influences from a lot of hip-hop for this record, but we tried to present it with the attitude of a rock band.”
Ellipsis is the seventh album released by Neil and his fellow musicians James and Ben Johnston since they started playing two decades ago – and the group will be celebrating the revival with their North American tour.
Tickets for the tour go on sale January 13 at 10 am through Live Nation.
