New Vancouver Restaurant: Bestie, Chinatown Finest Currywurst

Dec 19 2017, 3:43 pm

Bestie is a friendly little sausage and beer parlour in the heart of Vancouver’s Chinatown, serving up the finest German street food including the finest Currywurst in all the land. It opens its doors today, June 17, 2013.

For those of you unfamiliar with currywurst, it’s the first original street food, bratwurst, curry ketchup and crispy fries. Simple and delicious.

Alongside currywurst, they’ll be serving up bratwurst,  sausages, fresh baked pretzels, hand cut fries, sauerkraut, pickles and hearty side salads using ingredients like cabbage, beets, and kohlrabi.

The fine folks at Bestie promise to use only all natural, sustainably raised meat from local farms and master butchers. They work with what’s fresh and bring in produce grown right here in downtown Vancouver’s urban farms. Ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard are made in-house from quality natural ingredients.

Also ask about their Magic Sausage card.

When you buy a Magic Sausage Card for a given value, you will get a card pre-loaded with that amount to spend at Bestie on things like sausages, beer, and pretzels. You’ll also become a Magic Sausage Card member, which means you’ll get priority invitations to special events, a sausage lover pinback button, and legitimate Chinatown street cred.

They’ve got three curated taps of local beer, some odd German bottles, both colours of wine, and a storied selection of schnapps.

Bestie is open for snappy lunches, friendly dinners, late night eats and thirsty visits anytime. Just look for the neon sausage.
