Rooftop patios seem to be a little hard to come by here in Vancouver. To make things easy, we’ve put together a list that will help you find the best of the best and those hidden gems scattered across the city.
The Roof (at Black & Blue)
The Roof is the latest trendy spot from Glowbal Group to crop up in the city. Located on the top of Black & Blue on Alberni Street, the patio is designed for the “sophisticated” late night crowd and is decorated with ultra modern furnishings and open pit table fireplaces. It also boasts Vancouver’s largest rooftop patio and has a completely separate menu from downstairs.

Joe Fortes
If you don’t know about Joe Fortes yet, you must live under a rock. The restaurant has been a Vancouver institution for over 27 years and a favourite rooftop patio for the business crowd. Joe Fortes serves a number of classic seafood dishes and a fantastic Caesar.

Reflections
Tucked away on the rooftop of the fourth floor of the Georgia Hotel, Reflections is the kind of place you feel the need to dress up for. Whether that’s a good or bad thing is based on how you like to socialize; one thing is for sure, with their water features, teak couches, cabanas and fire pits, Reflections aims for the posh nightlife crowd.

Falconetti’s
You didn’t think all the patios on this list were going to be for the ‘upscale’ crowd, did you? Falconetti’s on the drive has pretty much everything you would want for a patio: good food (homemade sausage), relaxed atmosphere and a mountain and city view all on Commercial Drive.

Lift
Lift has the perfect rooftop patio to make a good impression on a date. Gorgeous views of Stanley Park, Canada Place and the North Shore, Lift is sure to impress and remind people just how great this city is.

Darby’s
Darby’s patio is an unassuming bar patio with an impressive line-up of B.C. craft beers and decent food specials. It doesn’t hurt that the patio is sun-drenched most of the day and no one will give you a hard time for showing up in sandals and beach wear.

Keg Yaletown
When The Keg first moved into Yaletown, everyone complained that a “big box” restaurant was moving in. That didn’t stop people from making the rooftop patio one of the busiest in the city. It’s now a pillar of the Yaletown scene, and not to be missed (if you’re into that sort of thing).
