Although many Vancouver homeowners have noticed a decline in the number of doorbell rings each year, and high-rise dwellers never hear a single knock, some neighbourhoods are experiencing a Halloweentime boom. Also on the upswing is the trend of taking your trick-or-treating outside your own ‘hood, too.
A great place to trick-or-treat follows the guiding principles for what constitutes a family-friendly, walkable neighbourhood overall. Tree-lined streets with sidewalks, single family homes in good proximity to each other and local amenities, and a user-friendly layout are among the best qualities.
Going all out with Halloween decorations also helps draw in the dressed up kids, as does the distribution of premium treats.
