Have a seat and enjoy a sweet treat this summer on some of Vancouver’s favourite patios.
Summer-like weather is here long before the official first day of summer later this month. Why not enjoy the gorgeous sunshine on a patio with a little sweet indulgence?
In the heat of the summer you usually go for lighter, fresh meals which means you have more room for dessert at the end of the night. Meet some friends or a date on one of Vancouver’s outdoor patios to share something sweet.
With lots of options you can satisfy your sweet tooth craving with something light like fruit or a pastry, something more sinful and dense like a chocolate cake, or refreshingly cool like gelato or sorbet. Whatever your pleasure find it on these patios.

Not just decadent chocolates, you can get Thierry’s sorbet by the scoop or take it to go if you rather not sit on the patio. This patio is also a great spot for people and car watching as Vancouver’s mini Rodeo Drive is bustling from sunrise to sunset.

Buttery pastries filled with curds, buttercream and whipping cream adorned beautifully with fruit. Now with two locations downtown, you’ll find the Faubourg patio (across the Vancouver Art Gallery) filled with people, especially in comparison to neighbouring Cafe Artigiano, which seems a lot less busy these days.

Award winning gelato in every flavour you can imagine – I suggest getting two scoops. The lineups may be huge, but it’s definitely worth the wait.
