The August Market

Even though it’s only been open for a few months, The August Market has already gained quite the following, thanks in large part to the Main Street store’s great selection of gourmet goods and welcoming atmosphere. The community-minded grocer, run by first-time entrepreneur Gogan Shottha, carries an array of produce, from fresh fruit and vege to pre-packaged foods.

Harvest Community Foods

Since its conception, Harvest Community Foods, which is run by celebrated chef Andrea Carlson from Burdock & Co., has been providing residents of the Chinatown-Strathcona neighbourhood with locally made products (a huge plus for those determined to shop local), artisan foods, and fresh seasonal produce. In addition to the stocked grocery items, the sweet looking storefront also offer customers enticing bowls of hot ramen noodles.
