Tacomio (which translates to “my taco”) keeps their recipes simple and garnishes their taco creations with a variety of fun and enticing toppings. Tacomio takes a slightly different approach to their fish taco. Instead of using battered fish, the casual eatery offers up a seared B.C. Albacore tuna version, which is presented with an ancho citrus crust, house slaw, chipotle crema, and fresh salsa, on a non-GMO corn tortilla.

In addition to this mainstay item, The Fish Counter also offers a fish taco rotating special, which includes tacos filled with halibut or sturgeon. Marinated in garlic, herbs, and lemon zest, then baked to perfection, grilled fish lovers should make a point of ordering the Greek Taco when it’s offered.

Any fish taco-related list would not be complete without mentioning La Taqueria. The go-to cantina for many Vancouverites seeking a reliably good Mexican meal, offers two types of fish tacos. The ever-popular Taco de Pescado (composed of steamed cod, chipotle mayo, cabbage, salsa Mexicana, and corn tortillas), and the Atun Seafood taco (Albacore tuna with wasabi mayo, chili ponzu, cabbage, and pico de gallo on a six inch handmade flour tortilla).
