It’s Breakfast Week! We’re serving up a heaping plateful of delicious stories about the most important meal of the day–and where to get it in Vancouver.

Even though Vancouver has a plethora of fantastic brekkie spots, true breakfast connoisseurs wont be contained within city limits, and they’ll happily venture outside of YVR in order to try the best and biggest meals available first thing in the morning.

If you’re in search of a killer brunch outside of the City of Vancouver, look no further than North Vancouver, where breakfast is top-notch and selection is wide.

It’s clear that the North Shore has a lot to offer breakfast lovers, so here are nine must-try breakfast spots in North Vancouver.

1. All Day Cafe

Based on the name of this spot, it’s not surprising they serve breakfast all day. Known for their melt-in-your-melt croissant sandwiches and benedicts – yes, croissant benedicts – All Day Cafe also offers fresh baked goods you can enjoy on their heated and covered sundeck overlooking the Vancouver Harbour. And to boot, when you purchase one of the six varieties of self-serve coffee from All Day, you get all refills free. For Vancouverites this cafe is a quick 15-minute Seabus ride away; we think it’s worth the trek.

2. Bluhouse Market & Cafe

This charming market and cafe is a hippy paradise. Known for its vibrant blue exterior and homemade crêpes, Bluhouse has room for about 20 people to sit along with a small retail store at the back of the space. Choose from nine varieties of crêpes made with organic buckwheat flour (we recommend The Cove), a selection of healthy smoothies, salads, bowls, and the soup of the day.

You know when a brekkie spot has a note on the front page of their menu urging patrons to relax but kindly not hang around because of high table demand, it’s got to be good. BLVD has a menu full of hearty dishes like the Philly Cheese Steak Hash, the BLVD Breakfast Burrito, and a French Toast Flight (served with ever-changing artisan spreads). All of the bennys here are served with BLVD’s signature savoury potato bread pudding, and with tons of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options along with as Build Your Own breakfast section (think home fries with hickory smoked sea salt, pork apple bangers, and organic baguette) – it’s no wonder this spot always has lines out the door.

For those with a sweet tooth there’s the usual suspects of pancakes, and French toast available with pure maple syrup.
