It’s Breakfast Week! We’re serving up a heaping plateful of delicious stories about the most important meal of the day–and where to get it in Vancouver.

If hunger strikes in the morning and you’re in either of two of Vancouver’s southern ‘burbs, Delta and Surrey, don’t worry, you’ve got options. True, you can pull in at the nearest fast food joint or big chain (and there are plenty here) but there are also some independent spots serving up breakfast.

Delta

Skyhawk Restaurant

Always a hit with the kids, this is a unique dining spot in Delta that’s situated right inside the terminal at the Boundary Bay Airport in East Ladner. The food is basic diner fare, from hefty Monte Cristos to egg combos, pancakes, and omelettes. Watch the planes take off while you enjoy your hashbrowns and coffee.

Twin Bridges

Have your breakfast on Annacis Island. Twin Bridges’ breakfast menu includes wraps, omelettes, pancakes, and egg combo platters galore.

South Surrey’s Morrison Cafe has a solid menu of breakfast standards, plus a few with some flavourful global twists. Look for dishes like a Mexican Scramble, a simple eggs on toast, bennies, and a proper English-style fry-up.

Whalley’s Round-Up is a classic diner, with a menu to match. For breakfast they’re serving up all sorts of eggy combos, including hashes, omelettes, and even a breaky plate with perogies.

Roadhouse Grille

With breakfast being served up until 3 pm daily, Roadhouse Grille is a great option for a greasy spoon-style feed in Surrey.
