VFM's Berry Festival features free fresh berries and a fun pie contest

It’s prime berry season in BC, and to celebrate once again it’s time for the Berry Festival at two of the city’s favourite Vancouver farmers’ markets.
Taking place Wednesday at Main Street Station Market and Sunday at Mount Pleasant Market, the 7th annual Berry Festival includes everything for the berry lover, from berry tastings of farm-fresh offerings, recipes and storage tips, and of course: PIE.

The pie happens Sunday at the BC Berry Pie Bake Off, which is open to professional and amateur bakers. And once the judging is done, the pies are sliced up and available for market shoppers to enjoy (with a donation).
