Auto and home insurance provider belairdirect is hosting a career fair on Thursday, July 6 at their downtown Cambie street office. Yep – you read that right. Not only will you have the chance to show company reps why you think you deserve the job, you’ll get to learn more about the company and take a tour of their downtown office.

belairdirect may be new to Vancouver, but with a rich history of 60 plus years they have offices across Canada, spanning coast-to-coast. Innovative by nature, belairdirect was the first property and casualty insurer in North America to sell insurance products online and recently has been named one of the AON top 100 employers.

Right now, belairdirect is looking to hire a number of Sales and Customer Service Advisors to join their Vancouver team. In this exciting role, you will sell insurance products directly to customers. If you have a positive “can-do” attitude, previous experience in sales or customer service, and are hard-working and dedicated, then belairdirect wants you to attend their career fair. At the fair, there will be an information session so that you can learn more about belairdirect as well as get a tour of the Vancouver office. After that, you’ll get to participate in a 15-minute interview with a belairdirect rep and all you have to do in advance is update your resume and upload it when you register online. To give you a better idea of what they are looking for in prospective employees, here are some of the skills you should have:

• High school diploma (post-secondary education is an asset)
• Property and casualty insurance experience and/or licence are definite assets
• Sales and customer service experience
• Excellent sales and customer retention skills
• Strong communication skills
• Computer skills

If your interview is a success, you’ll be required to obtain your level 1 insurance license which belairdirect will provide paid training, resources, materials and also pay for your exam to achieve this. Employees enjoy competitive salary and perks, like discounted home and auto insurance.
