Wednesday night’s thrilling match between the Vancouver Whitecaps and Los Angeles Galaxy marked David Beckham’s return to BC Place after his first appearance here five years ago.
Beckham’s appearance in Vancouver is the second in two months after wife Victoria was in town to promote her fashion line.
With the arrival of the international superstar creating a buzz around the city, fans came to see Becks put on a show and he did just that, creating a number of chances and hitting the post a couple of times before eventually finding the back of the net and starting the Galaxy’s comeback.
After the game, Beckham gave the jersey off his back to a young fan, before speaking to a large media scrum, which can be seen below.
If you weren’t able to be one of the 21,000 lucky fans to watch the game in-person, don’t fret. Should both teams make the playoffs this year, it’s possible Beckham could return, and he’ll likely be in town again next year. Until then here are some pictures of the English playmaker.
