Bear on the loose caught 'sunning himself' in New Westminster yard

A bear was on the loose in a residential area of Metro Vancouver late Thursday afternoon and was spotted in a yard in New West.
Thankfully, no one was hurt, including the bear. The bear was initially spotted in the Sapperton area of New Westminster.

After a small demand of folks asking New West Police for an update, the department said this on X:
Hi #NewWest! After sunning himself in a front yard, the bear wandered towards the Brunette River. We waved goodbye and we are now tending to other calls for service.

Clearly, the bear was just enjoying some nice weather before going off on its bear-y way.
