Pro Beach Volleyball Tournament hitting Kits Beach this weekend

Vancouver may have decided to skip summer, but the best beach volleyball players from around the world will still be hitting Kits Beach this weekend.

More than 100 pro beach volleyball players and 20,000 spectators expected to head to the beach for the 25th Annual Vancouver Open Pro Beach Volleyball Tournament.

The tournament runs Friday through Sunday, with 64 teams of two players competing for prizes totalling $15,000 – the biggest pro beach volleyball purse in Canada.

As well as the tournament games, there will also be a youth volleyball tournament, prize giveaways, interactive crowd activities and food and drinks available.

The tournament is totally free to attend. If you can’t make it, there will also be live streaming of the semi-finals and finals on Sunday.

When: Friday, July 15, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17, from 8:30 am to 6 pm
