A new survey has revealed what the 10 most beloved brands in B.C. are.

The ranking of brands comes from the market research firm Ipsos, which surveyed nearly 2,500 customers around the province.

The 10 brands come from various industries, including restaurants, retail and grocery.

Ipsos said, “This year’s study underscores the significance of local brands in maintaining consumer trust during challenging times.”

The 10 most beloved B.C. brands:

  1. Save-On-Foods
  2. London Drugs
  3. BC Hydro
  4. A&W
  5. Vancouver International Airport
  6. White Spot
  7. Purdys
  8. BC LIQUOR
  9. TELUS
  10. BCAA

You might be surprised why A&W is on the list. In case you didn’t know, A&W Canada operates independently of the American brand and is based in British Columbia, with its headquarters in North Vancouver.

The Canadian version of A&W has been separate from the American one since the 70s.

“Our findings highlight that ‘Brand Love’ acts as a critical driver of consumer loyalty and business success. By focusing on the emotional connections brands forge with their customers, we can uncover the keys to building sustainable relationships in the marketplace,” said Ipsos SVP Kim Short.

Ipsos also shared some information about the Jim Pattison Group, thanks to the number one spot being Pattison-owned Save-On-Foods.

“Established in 2021, the Pattison Food Group is a Canadian-owned and operated Jim Pattison business and Western Canada’s leading provider of food and drugs. The Pattison Food Group includes nine retail grocery banners including Save-On-Foods and Buy-Low Foods, as well as Everything Wine, Pure Integrative Pharmacy, Imperial Distributors Canada Inc.”

Gillian Yorke, the vice-president of Customer Loyalty at the Pattison Food Group, said that they’re honoured to have been named the most loved B.C. brand.

“Every day, in communities across British Columbia, our teams are focused on giving customers a little extra when they shop at Save-On-Foods, and we’re incredibly grateful to be a trusted part of our customers’ lives,” Yorke added.
