Vancouver has a lot of cool job fairs, however, a lot of the time it’s tough to be physically present at all of them due to work and other commitments. Sometimes, one might just want to pop their heads in, but that requires paying for the whole ticket and physically being present. On Tuesday July 24th, you’ll be able to steer around some of these barriers by attending Vancouver’s first fully virtual career fair.

The BC Tech Fair showcases BC’s fastest growing technology companies to candidates all over the world. Candidates can explore Vancouver’s top tech companies on an interactive map, browse company booths, take fun challenges to show off their skills, and interact with company representatives using social media and live chat.

Our friends over at Growlab, Vancouver’s startup accelerator, are sponsoring the event alongside KarmaHire, a local startup. “There are a lot of companies awesome companies looking for talent in Vancouver,” Says James Clift, a co-founder of KarmaHire.

“We wanted to start something super cool  to really showcase how great this city is to start a career. The best part about a virtual career fair is the amount of people we can attract, without all the limitations of a physical location. Candidates can make meaningful connections with top companies, all from the comfort of their living rooms.”

If you have been keeping up with our weekly “Vancity Entrepreneurs” series, you’ll agree that Vancouver has a flourishing technology sector, which, BC Tech Fair plans on showcasing career options in.

Candidates can pre-register on BC Tech Fair.ca to get priority access to the fair. Companies looking to participate can contact James Clift ([email protected]).
