Telus Place Stadium? It Could Happen

Dec 19 2017, 12:53 pm

Reports starting whirling last week on April 1st that Telus may secure the naming rights to the newly renovated B.C. Place Stadium. Now many, myself included, simply dismissed this as an April Fool’s joke when The Team 1040 said that Vancouver-based telecommunications company Telus is in the process of finalizing a deal to secure the naming rights to B.C. Place Stadium.

The stadium is set to open later this year as the new retractable roof should be ready. The names being thrown out there are Telus Park or Telus Stadium. How about B.C. Telus Place.

Now with the Whitecaps being sponsored by Bell, does anyone else see a conflict here? I just find it funny that we’ll have to walk by Rogers Arena, to get to Telus Place to watch a team play in jersey’s sponsored by Bell.
