BC Place reveals Taylor Swift bag policy and friendship bracelet rules

Dec 3 2024, 12:50 am

Taylor Swift and her record-breaking The Eras Tour will soon be in Vancouver, and fans with bejewelled bags are being warned to leave them at home.

BC Place has posted its updated bag policy online for the sold-out shows on December 6, 7, and 8.

Swifties wanting to trade friendship bracelets during the concerts are also urged to follow the stadium’s guidelines for the beads.

Though ticketholders are encouraged to leave bags at home, concertgoers are allowed to bring one bag that follows BC Place’s criteria:

  • Clutch purse or belt bag no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”
  • Clear plastic bag no larger than 12” x 12” x 6”
  • Clear bags may have a printed logo no larger than 3.5” x 4.5” on only one side of the bag

Chris May, the general manager of BC Place, added that bags covered in stickers or bejewelled may no longer qualify for being clear and transparent.

“The problem with putting coverings or stickers or bejeweling a clear see-through bag is it very quickly becomes not a clear see-through bag, which will then be denied coming into the stadium,” added May.

Exceptions may also be provided for diaper bags and medically necessary items that cannot fit into a clear bag.

Swifties wanting to trade bracelets during The Eras Tour shows are welcome to do so following BC Place’s guidelines.

“We’re as excited about exchanging friendship bracelets as you are. However, all friendship bracelets must be worn into the stadium or carried in a bag which abides by the above bag policy,” posted BC Place. “Carabiners (metal or plastic) holding bracelets are strictly prohibited.”
